  How to Make Almond burfi recipe

Almond burfi are an asian sweet made with sugar, milk powder, ground almond and cardamom.
They are often decorated with edible silver leaf and eaten during celebrations.

Motichoor Laddoo Recipe


  1. Full cream milk powder – 200 g(2 cups)
  2. Almonds / badam – 1 ½ cups
  3. Cups Sugar – 1 ¼ cups
  4. Green cardamom powder – 1 pinch / elaichi or 4 cardamoms
  5. Oil Few drops or ghee for greasing the pan
  6. Sesame seeds or chopped pistachios- 1 tsp
  7. Edible silver leaf (optional), to decorate


  • Soak almonds overnight and peel the skin.
  • Grind the almonds with milk to a fine paste in a mixer grinder.
  • Mix the almond paste and sugar and transfer it to a deep bottom pan.
  • Keep stirring on high flame.
  • Add few spoons of ghee and keep stirring until the mixture starts to leave the side of the pan.
  • (this might take around 30 minutes)
  • In the meanwhile, grease a plate with ghee and keep it aside.
  • Pour it immediately to a greased plate.
  • Sprinkle the sesame seeds.
  • Grease your palms and tuck them into the mix.
  • Leave it for few hours.
  • Once it cools down, cut the burfi into pieces and store in an airtight container.
  • as a guide and decorate with silver leaf, if using, to serve.
