Ingredients of kata Kat :

Easy Mutton Paya Recipe

  1. Mutton kidneys – 4
  2. Brain – 2
  3. Mutton chops – 250 gm
  4. Onion – 1 cup chopped
  5. Green chilies chopped – 4
  6. Tomatoes chopped – 4
  7. Chili powder – 3 tsp
  8. Fenugreek leaves – 2 tbsp
  9. Ghee – ½ cup
  10. Salt – 1 ½ tsp
  11. Yogurt – ½ cup
  12. Ginger sliced – 2 tbsp
  13. Coriander leaves – ½ bunch
  14. Garlic water – 4 ounce
  15. Katakat masala – 3 tsp heaped

Katakat Masala Ingredients:

  1. Fennel seeds – ¼ cup
  2. Large cardamom – 16-18
  3. Poppy seeds – ¼ cup
  4. Mace – ¼ cup
  5. Black pepper – ½ cup
  6. Whole coriander – 1 cup
  7. Coconut powder- 1 cup
  8. Small cardamom – ¼ cup
  9. White cumin – 2 cups
  10. Cloves – ¼ cup
  11. Nutmeg – 2
  12. Cinnamon – ¼ cup
  13. Coriander powder – 1 cup
  14. Kachri – 1 cup

Method of kata kat masala:

  • Clean everything and grind them together.
  • Store in bottle and use.

Method of kata Kat:

  • On a tawa put some water, add kidneys and chopped, keep cutting constantly until small pieces are made with a help of katakat spoon.
  • Then add garlic water with finely chopped onion and tomatoes, ginger slices and green chilies, add salt, chili powder and brain.
  • Again sprinkle with garlic water and keep doing katatkat with 2 special spoon add coriander leaves, ghee and yogurt, bhunno well,
  • Lastly sprinkle katakat masala, kasori methi, coriander leaves, keep doing katatkat and everything.
  • Tender and ghee comes on top.
  • Serve with naan.
