Sooji Upma

Sooji Upma Recipe by  Chef Gulazar Hussain

Ingredients:

  1. Semolina (sooji) – 2 1/2 cups
  2. Green chili – 5 to 6
  3. Dry red whole chili – 3 to 4
  4. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  5. Curry leaves – 10 to 15
  6. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  7. Oil – 4 tbsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Water – 2 1/2 cups

Method:

  • Take a pan, heat up oil and add curry leaves, green chili, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  • Fry until you can feel the aroma of curry leaves.
  • Then add semolina and salt, fry well.
  • Now add water and put on dum.
  • When its done, dish out.
  • Then take anther pan, heat up oil, then add 7 to 8 whole dry red chili, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, fry for 5 sec then add 10 to 15 curry leaves and pour on cooked semolina and serve.
