Tandoori Chicken Tikka

Tandoori chicken tikka is a popular Indian dish consisting of roasted chicken prepared with yogurt and spices. The name comes from the type of cylindrical clay oven, a tandoor, in which the dish is traditionally prepared. But try this tandoori chicken without yogurt, very easy and delicious..


  1. Chicken – 1 cut into 4 pieces
  2. Lemon juice – 4 tbsp
  3. Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
  4. Red chili powder – 3 tsp
  5. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  6. Orange food color – few drops


  • Wash chicken pieces, pat dry and give deep cuts.
  • Mix lemon juice, salt, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste and food color.
  • Then apply on chicken pieces, leave for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Then bake in preheated oven on 180ºC, gas mark 4 for 1 hour.
  • Then give smoke of charcoal, you can BBQ, grill or cook on grilled pan if you don’t have the oven facility.
  • Serve with warqi paratha or naan.
