Mutton Raan Roast Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Mutton leg – 1
  2. salt – 1 tbsp
  3. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  4. water 0f – 2 cups
  5. Lemon juice – 2 tbsp

Ingredients for marination:

  1. Oil – 1/2 cup
  2. Yogurt – 1 & 1/2 cup
  3. Lemon juice – 2 & 1/2 tbsp
  4. Papaya paste – 3 tbsp
  5. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  6. Green chili paste – 2 & 1/2 tbsp
  7. Almond powder – 3 tbsp
  8. Cumin powder – 1 tbsp
  9. Black pepper powder – 1 & 1/2 tbsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Nutmeg powder – 1/4 tsp
  12. Mace powder – 1 tsp
  13. Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
  14. Chaat masala – 1 tbsp
  15. Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
  16. Red food color – 1 tsp

Directions:

  • Take mutton leg and place deep cuts in it with help of a sharp knife.
  • In a bowl add two cups of water, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, salt and marinate mutton leg for 2 hours in it.
  • Deep fry mutton leg until golden brown and keep aside until cold.
  • In a bowl add yogurt, lemon juice, papaya paste, ginger garlic paste, green chili paste, almond powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, salt, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, mace powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala, red chili powder and red food color.
  • Mix all these ingredients well and marinate mutton leg in it for 6 hours or overnight.
  • In a steamer, steam mutton leg for one hour or until fully tender.
